In the pay TV industry now, it’s all about the value. Customers want a lot of value for their dollar, and HBO has been building value in its brand for 30 years. They have embraced streaming with their HBO GO app, and continue to make it available to all their subscribers on multiple platforms. That is how much value HBO sees in their subscribers, so much that they want them to enjoy shows and movies no matter where they are. Working at DISH I can understand wanting customer to have access to television and movies no matter where they are, we have been doing it for years with the sling adapter. The base idea between that and HBO GO are the same, access on your terms. With the launch of HBO GO on the Xbox, it continues that trend of access. Unfortunately Comcast and Time Warner don’t have any flexibility for their customers, and that is one thing that you do not want to have happen in this say and age.
