Rumor has it that not only does Ben Stiller want Lady Gaga to join the cast of "Zoolander 2," but he's also offered her $4.8 million for the role.
We should preface this by saying that this news is about as far from confirmed as a story can be. But we've heard in the past that Stiller and co. were interested in getting Lady Gaga on board for the project, and a new story from The Sun seems to confirm that news. The British paper claims that Gaga has been asked to play a major role in the movie: the "love interest for the former model rivals," played by Stiller and Owen Wilson.
The outlet also claims that Kate Moss, Kate Upton, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima are all potential candidates should Gaga say no. We don't see why she would, though, as Lady Gaga has already filmed her Hollywood debut in "Machete Kills."
When MTV News caught up with Wilson two years ago, he said that he thought it was obligatory that Lady Gaga have a role in the movie.
"She has to be [in it]" he said, though at the time Wilson admitted that they hadn't written a part for the Mother Monster yet. "But she definitely could be... maybe she makes a good foil for Hansel."
Despite all this news involving "Zoolander 2," Stiller told us in July that he's not currently working on the movie. At least we did get treated with a guest appearance by Derek Zoolander on "Saturday Night Live" last October. That will have to keep us sated for now, though The Sun claims "Zoolander 2" is supposed to start filming next year.
