Robert Pattinson is officially going to make his first television appearance since the break-up on The Daily Show–not Good Morning America! This is a little shocking, but it might turn out to be a good move.
The break-up between Rob and his Twilight co-star has been EPIC news. It’s really one of the only celebrity stories with any juice that we’ve seen in a while. They were a story book couple that actually brought a lot of young girl’s wishes to a reality. Then came a creepy, older director who got his hands on Kristen.
Game over.
Earlier this week we were told that Rob would be on GMA and would actually talk about the break-up. That’s a big promise, which is supposed to take place on August 15th. NOW it is being revealed that the young movie star will actually appear BEFORE that on The Daily Show.
The only problem? There is no guarantee from Comedy Central that he will talk about Stewart. For all we know, he will go on and chat about the Olympics or something. So what gives?
First of all, Good Morning America is a little more serious and definitely targets an older audience. I also think that it screams “crisis” for Rob, who is really part of the young Hollywood crowd. Going on GMA after a big break-up is sort of a way to get sympathy, and it’s actually kind of lame.
Going on the Daily Show is something a little more hip. Instead of getting all bleary eyed about Kristen, he could prove that he is moving on by having a little laugh with the guys.
Not that we wanted them to split in the first place, but who really thought it would last? It was just too good to be true.
We’ll post the video as soon as it airs, coming up on Monday August 13th. Let’s hope he talks about the break-up at least a little, right?
